Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) Information

Below you will find information relating to the EU directive on insurance distribution (IDD).

The IDD was adopted by the European Parliament and Council (EU) in 2016 and has been in force since 1 October 2018.

1. Broker identification details

BB Care is the brand of an insurance broker operating under a licence issued by the supervisory authority competent for the insurance market. Detailed identification details, including legal form, broker registration number and registered office, are stated in the registration documents available at the broker's registered office and in public registers.

2. Status and scope of activities

BB Care operates as an independent insurance broker, representing the interests of the client in relations with insurance companies. This means that recommendations on insurance programmes and specific products are developed from the perspective of the client's needs, not a single insurer.

3. Sources of remuneration

The broker's remuneration for services rendered may take various forms, in particular a commission received from insurance companies, a fee paid by the client or a mixed model. Information about the remuneration model applied is communicated to the client before the conclusion of insurance contracts serviced by BB Care.

4. Scope of market analysis

When preparing recommendations, BB Care conducts an analysis of the insurance market to a scope appropriate to the specifics of the matter, the size of the insurance programme and the client's requirements. The scope of this analysis may cover offers from multiple insurance companies, taking into account their experience in the relevant risk segment.

5. Conflicts of interest disclosure

BB Care takes steps to identify potential conflicts of interest and mitigate them. If in a specific situation there is a risk of a conflict of interest, the client is informed of this along with an explanation of its nature and the proposed course of action.

6. Communication with the client

Communication with clients takes place in the forms agreed during the course of the cooperation – most commonly via e-mail, meetings, telephone calls and dedicated reports and summaries. Documents of legal significance are communicated in a manner that allows them to be stored and reproduced.

7. Complaints information

The client has the right to submit a complaint concerning the services provided by BB Care. The rules for submitting and handling complaints are described on the Complaintspage.

8. Personal data protection

In connection with the provision of brokerage services, BB Care processes the personal data of clients and their representatives. Detailed information on the principles of personal data processing can be found in the Privacy Policy and GDPRdocuments.
